RentWiki.com Launches Facebook’s Newest Functionality
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 6, 2010
RentWiki announced today that it is the first apartment search website to implement the Open Graph functionality, Facebook’s latest attempt at bringing the social Internet world together.
At the recent F8 Facebook developer conference, CEO Mark Zuckerberg described it as “the most transformative thing we’ve ever done for the Web.” And, with more than 400 million users now on Facebook, the implications are far reaching.
Using Facebook’s Open Graph, RentWiki users will now be able to see which other Facebook users liked a neighborhood or rental property, which of their friends have used Rentwiki , the comments their friends made, and their RentWiki activity will now be updated on their wall.
The Facebook Open Graph is basically comprised of eight social plugins. RentWiki has deployed the three plugins most likely to appeal to renters and RentWiki users. They are:
Like Button: This plugin lets users share pages from RentWiki.com back to their Facebook profile with one click.
Facepile: This plugin shows profile pictures of the user’s friends who have already signed up on RentWiki.com.
Comments: This plugin lets users comment on any piece of content on RentWiki.com.
“RentWiki has been leading the way in bringing the social web into the apartment industry,” said Jamie Gallo, CEO of RentWiki.com. “RentWiki users can already see what other people think about an area–the social scene, walkability, pet friendliness, etc. This new functionality will now enable them to see what their friends and family think, which is much more important to most renters.”
