Grand Traverse Resort and Spa Resort Announces Condominium Renovation Program
ACME, Mich., (PRWEB) November 6, 2005
Grand Traverse Resort and Spa has expanded its multi-phase property wide renovation with a plan to renovate the interiors of 219 privately owned condominiums that participate in the Resort’s rental program. Condo renovation, which started in 2004, is projected to be complete in 2007 and condominium owners will invest over $ 6 million into their units.
“Refurbishment of rental condominiums is an essential component of the overall improvement of the Resort,” said Andrew Bateman, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the 900-acre property near Traverse City, Michigan. “Our guests expect and deserve the best Resort experience that we can deliver, including condominiums. The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians is investing heavily into renovating the Hotel and Tower complexes and Resort infrastructure. In addition, we are working closely with condo owners and the condominium associations as they invest in their properties to help maintain and enhance the value of their units.”
The multi-year property wide renovation of the Resort started when it was acquired by the Grand Traverse Band in March 2003. To date, the Tribe has invested nearly $ 9 million in upgrades and improvements throughout the property. In 2005, the Resort will renovate 180 Tower guestrooms at a cost of approximately $ 1.8 million and other areas of the Resort also will be renovated. By the end of 2005, a multi-year total of nearly $ 12 million will have been spent in renovations, not including the 219 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums.
The condominium renovation plan calls for 10 to 15 condos to be renovated each season until the program is completed. This spring, owners of 12 units will renovate their condominiums. Condo owners have a choice of four professional designs that include new furniture, bedding, kitchen cabinets, sinks, faucets, floor coverings, lighting, artwork and decor, and paint.
Rental condominiums comprise approximately a third of the Resort’s guestrooms and are distributed in seven condo complexes around the 900-acre property: 96 at The Shores, 44 at Golfview, 38 in Valleyview, 18 at Hilltop, 15 at Terrace, four at Singletree, and four at Bayview.
